You can access your email using a variety of clients, such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, iOS and Android. For help with specific clients, see [1].
It is recommended to set up your email client using the IMAP protocol, although Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync may work better with some clients.
IMAP setup[edit]
- IMAP:
- Server: mail.dlnet.org
- Port: 143
- Security: STARTTLS (alternatively, you can use SSL/TLS with port 993)
- Authentication: use your full email address and password
- SMTP:
- Server: mail.dlnet.org
- Port: 587
- Security: STARTTLS
- Authentication: use your full email address and password
Exchange ActiveSync setup[edit]
- ActiveSync server address: cloud.yourdomain.com
ActiveSync will synchronize your email, calendar and contacts. See [2] for instructions on setting up Outlook 2016 with ActiveSync (instead of apps.kolabnow.com you need to enter your own cloud domain, cloud.yourdomain.com).
Warning: some bugs have been reported. If there are issues with your mail synchronisation it is recommended to switch to IMAP for email synchronisation. ActiveSync appears to be stable for synchronisation of calendars and contacts.
Webmail[edit]
There is a web client available (Roundcube) at https://cloud.yourdomain.com/roundcubemail. In roundcube you can also access your calendars, contacts and notes and change many settings. You can also set filters, that move selected incoming emails to folders or forward them to other addresses (see also Email forwarding).
With the help of the Mailvelope plugin, Roundcube supports PGP encryption. See Encryption.
